The Recipe to participate:
BAKE THOSE CAKES! A sweet way to support all SoFLX Pride does for the community in the Southern Finger Lakes. Bake and decorate any kind of cake you wish, make it fancy, or down home tasty. At least two layers, please. You do you - GF, Vegan, naked or frosted, all cakes count.
(E)QUALITY INGREDIENTS: We encourage individuals, families, friend groups, organizations, and local businesses to participate and show your pride and allyship for our SoFLX 2SLGBTQIA+ community. (We could all use some cake joy right about now, are you with me?) We appreciate you building community joy and solidarity with us at the festival this year.
MIX IT UP: Plan your Catwalk & Theme. All cakes and bakers (or cake model of your choice) will walk the mainstage catwalk in Centerway Square. SO make it big, fun, crazy, a protest, camptastic, freaky, Queer AF, a family affair, salty or simple & sweet. You can have backup dancers, drag artists, costumes, props, pets allowed on leashes, or just your fabulous self...and let us know the music you would prefer to walk to.
FLOUR POWER: Your CAKE will be live auctioned to the crowd at Pride Festival by our fabulous MC Vanessa leDiva. Proceeds will benefit SoFLX Pride year round programming.
LICK YOUR FINGERS - GET YOUR CROWN! Prizes for TASTIEST CAKE! and BEST CAKE On The CATWALK! will be awarded. (sample cupcakes of your bake must be provided for the judging panel)
SET A TIMER: Deadline to sign up and participate is 6/8/2025. PARTICIPANTS MUST REPORT TO THE TENT NEXT TO THE CENTERWAY SQUARE STAGE, READY TO WALK, WITH YOUR CAKE AND CAKE SAMPLES AT 2:30 PM.
RECIPE TIPS: We understand parking and transporting your cake could be complicated - we will send a cake drop off plan to all registered Cake Auction articipants prior to the festival.
