On February 1, we arrive at a sacred threshold in the Celtic wheel of the year: Imbolc, the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. This is the season when the light begins to return in a way we can actually feel, and the land begins to stir beneath the surface.
Imbolc is also held as St. Brigid’s Day (Lá Fhéile Bríde), honoring Brigid / Bríde, beloved across centuries as keeper of the hearth fire, protector of home and community, and guardian of poetry, healing, fertility, and sacred wells. She is often felt as a bridge between worlds, between the human and the holy, reminding us that the land herself is sacred, and that threshold moments are portals.
Under the fulll moon, we will gather to honor the returning light, warm the inner hearth, and listen for what is beginning to emerge within the land, and within each of us.
