With the intensity of a psychological thriller and the depth of historical fiction, Catch Me When You Can opens with two eerily similar murders a thousand miles and three weeks apart. George Maybrick, a merchant seaman, is arrested and confesses-not just to these murders but to others in port cities worldwide. Psychiatrist Dr. Richard Crane is called to assess Maybrick's mental competency, and what he finds is chilling: a serial killer and self-taught artist with a passion for Dylan Thomas' poetry. Perplexed, Crane calls Dr. Shoshana Liebman, an expert in past life regression therapy. Together, they uncover links to Whitechapel in 1888, where five prostitutes were murdered. Is Maybrick a manipulative liar, a copycat killer, or the reincarnation of Jack the Ripper? As past and present collide, can they uncover the truth behind the greatest unsolved mystery?

J. Philip Davies is a retired educator. The author of two previous books on the impact of media on learning, Catch Me When You Can is his first novel. He and his wife, Roxanne, live in Miami, Florida, and enjoy traveling, biking, and pickleball. In addition to writing, he enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with his family.
