Broombusting at Mundy Park (near Animal Shelter)

Join us on Sunday, May 4 from 3–5 p.m. as we remove Scotch broom along Mundy Park under the hydro easement along the far southern end of Mariner Way and around the entrance to Coquitlam's Works Yard.

Meet up and Parking: Enter Service Centre Driveway off Mariner Way and park in the visitor parking across from the Animal Shelter. Buses run along Mariner Way.

What to wear: sturdy footwear, comfortable clothes, long sleeves and pants prevent scratches from brambles. Dress for the weather.

What to bring: water, gardening or work gloves

We are the Coquitlam chapter of the Broombusters Invasive Plant Society, a registered non-profit society with a mission to educate and empower communities to contain the spread of Scotch Broom. Broombusters started in 2006 in Qualicum Beach. There are over 600 other Broombuster volunteers in 12 different municipalities on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. Coquitlam is the first participating municipality in the Vancouver Metropolitan Area.​
