PALE RIDER: The mood of Pale Rider is the sleepy, lawless way of life in the wasteland between Copenhagen and Småland. The band’s passionate folk-punk, with its saloonish instrumentation, brings to mind the energy of a young Johnny Cash and the melancholy of Hope Sandoval. The common thread in the music is a desperate thirst for life.
It is the great big trucks loaded with timber from endless plantations of pine, the library, which opens only on Tuesdays, the village economy, where one does not pay with cash, but with favors. It is solitude and longing for the city, for old and new love. Time stands still in the little cabin in the woods, where past, present and future are equally real.
PELICULA (support): Película's music draws on a wide range of sources of inspiration from both contemporary and classical music. In this amalgamation across genres and time periods, atmospheric and evocative soundscapes are created that form the background for clear, strong melodies. The overall expression is a dreamy poetic universe where anything can happen.
