Join us for a cozy picnic event at the Lighthouse! It will hopefully be the second step of a conscious process, on how to integrate families and kids more into our community👨👨👧👦💖
We will keep it simple, in the way that it is a picnic potluck gathering; an opportunity to sense each other, play and bring future ideas to life for this concept💡🏖🌈
We aim at eating around 12-12.30. If the weather is good, we will of course eat outside. So apart from being self-reliant on cups, plates and cutlery, maybe bring a blanket🌳🍉
The frame:
The event is open for all, meaning also non parents, as we see this as a way of deepening the connection between different fractions of the community. The event will of course be defined by the presence of children, therefore being a non-sexual, semi-sober and mindful space.
It will however also be a celebratory space where we welcome radical self expression, in the form of dance, singing and costumes etc😁🥁
Intention:
We intend this to be a space, where we are not only together enjoying ourselves, but also as creating a framework to integrate our children in our community through learning about the principles. Therefore there will be a focus on one specific principle for each family gathering, that we will manifest throughout the day. In this way we create an opportunity to talk with our children about the particular principle, so they meet the principle in both theory and practice.
This time the theme is the beauty of IMMEDIACY, and at the lighthouse we define it like this:
"Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. No idea can substitute for this experience."
Often this principle becomes relevant in the context of smartphones - having a need to document beautiful experiences can lead us away from the present moment. But immediacy (or the absence of it) can show in many different contexts: what does it mean to be in the moment? The concept of active listening (instead of waiting to respond) is one example. Also: how can we appreciate the present moment, and not be consumed by all the 'news' continuously taking over our minds? Children can be a great teacher of immediacy, and a powerful reminder that often it can be so much more rewarding to stay in the NOW, instead of rushing on to the next thing. Do you have an idea how immediacy can be brought into this gathering? Remember: it doesn´t take much effort to create something magical 💝🙏🏻 And for all who want to contribute, we welcome your magic ❤💫
Payment:
There is no fee for members and their children, but if you bring a 1+ family, there is the usual contribution of 50 kr. to the lighthouse for non-members (only the adults).
