We are delighted to invite you to the Open Studio of FABRIKKEN Artist in Residence Antti Turkko in atelier #16.
Turkko will show a selection of works produced during his three-month residency.

ABOUT ANTTI TURKKO:
Antti Turkko (FIN) is a visual artist and architect working with installation, sculpture, space and situations. In his practice, he is interested in the ways and narratives through which space is experienced and produced – and consumed. His works act as a kind of a condition which consists of material and thought, observation and speculation, and fiction and fact – entities that have taken the form of an exhibition are born in relation to their location. On one hand they create a new space and simultaneously communicate permanence and fleeting, presence and absence. Turkko’s works usually combine sculpture, painting, architectural elements, video and text. Turkko has studied Masters degrees in architecture and contemporary art in Aalto University (Espoo/Helsinki).

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:
The Finnish Cultural Foundation Programme is a collaboration for artists based in Finland. The programme offers two three-month residencies a year with active mentoring and curatorial support. FABRIKKEN’s International Residencies are supported by Det Obelske Familiefond and The Danish Art Foundation.
