About Blue Raft 2 and the partners
Imagine the classic shelters in the Danish forrests that focuses on "hygge", closeness, nature, good conversations and memorable experiences. CPH RAFT has now upgraded that feeling with a spectacular sea view, comfortable facilities and add-on experiences that make it a wonderful memory you never will forget. Blue Raft 2's includes a floating platform with a sleeping cabin with space for 6 adults, and includes both indoor and outdoor social area and a toilet. It also includes a row boat and 2 SUPs, a board game box and water toys for kids.
Blue Raft 2 is built in partnership with SharingCPH and Cities4Forests with help from the The Partner Forest Program.
The construction features lesser-known timber species ‘msasa’ and ‘ncua’, used in long life urban infrastructure. The Partner Forest Program demonstrates that direct-purchasing lesser-known species from community conservation enterprises
can support urban sustainability goals, and new
paradigms for climate resilience.
The vendor, LevasForest, follows low impact harvest cycles that
extract approximately 5000 m3 of timber from 2350 ha plots, on a 20 year rotation. This means that approximately one tree per hectare is harvested annually, which allows time for the forest to recover.
