Ingrid Schyborger, a rising name on the European jazz scene, is a well-established double bassist and composer based in Stockholm, Sweden. After living in New York for three years, she has now moved back home. Since then, she has released a debut album, been nominated for the Manifest Prize 2024, run her own projects, and performed in a variety of groups such as Post-Sun-Vision and the Loke Risberg Trio, as well as recorded an album with drummer Bill Stewart.
For her appearance at Jazzcup Ingrid brings a powerful ensemble featuring some of the most exciting musicians on the scene today: the expressive and imaginative saxophonist Hannes Bennich, known for his dynamic presence and inventive phrasing; the Copenhagen-based pianist Rasmus Sørensen, whose lyrical touch and harmonic sophistication have positioned him as one of the most compelling young pianists in Scandinavian jazz; and the versatile drummer Nikolaj Bangsgaard, a highly skilled and in-demand musician celebrated for his sensitivity, groove, and modern rhythmic approach.
Together, Ingrid Schyborger, Hannes Bennich, Rasmus Sørensen, and Nikolaj Bangsgaard create an atmosphere of high energy and intensity, marked by brilliant interplay, adventurous time signatures, pulsating rhythms, and masterful improvisation. A truly unforgettable musical experience!
