Sådan har komponisten Bent Sørensen sagt om inspirationen til sine 12 nocturner skrevet for sin hustrus instrument. Pianisten Katrine Gislinge er blandt de ypperste danske klaversolister og hun spiller ofte værker komponeret af sin mand. Her sætter hun to af hans mest magiske værker for klaver overfor musik af to af musikhistoriens største klaverkomponister; Schumann, som også skrev mange af sine værker med sin egen pianisthustru, Clara, i tankerne, og Chopin, der som ingen anden formår at få klaveret til at fortælle og synge.

OM GLYPTOTEKETS SOMMERKONCERTER
Glyptotekets sommerkoncerter kan opleves hver søndag i august og september kl. 12-13. Bag det stjernespækkede program står 1. koncertmester fra Danmarks Underholdningsorkester og kammermusiker, Julie Eskær og Ingemar Brantelid, kammermusiker og tidligere solocellist i Det Kgl. Kapel. Sommerkoncerterne afholdes i år for 46. gang.

Katrine Gislinge: Fantasies
Once again, the Classical Summer Concerts are delighted to present a range of world-class musicians, performing amongst the Roman gods and heroes in the Glyptotek’s atmospheric Central Hall.
"I have always been fascinated by the sound of a piano from afar, and several times I have walked through the darkness of the city – in the evening and at night – and have stopped at the sound of a piano coming out of a window..."
These are composer Bent Sørensen’s words about the inspiration for his 12 nocturnes written for his wife's instrument. Pianist Katrine Gislinge is among the finest Danish piano soloists, and she often plays works composed by her husband. Here she plays two of his most magical works for piano with music by two of the greatest piano composers in music history; Schumann, who also wrote many of his works with his own pianist wife, Clara, in mind, and Chopin, who like no other manages to make the piano tell and sing.

ABOUT CLASSICAL SUMMER CONCERTS AT THE GLYPTOTEK
The Classical Summer Concerts take place every Sunday in August and September from 12.00 to 1.00 pm.
The star-studded programme is organised by Julie Eskær, concertmaster in the Danish Chamber Orchestra and chamber musician, and Ingemar Brantelid, chamber musician and former solo cellist in the Royal Danish Orchestra. This will be the 46th series.
