Kom med, når vi skyder den nye udstillingssæson i gang med en kæmpe fest – både inde og udenfor på Nikolaj Plads. Vi fejrer åbningen af gruppeudstillingen "København-Berlin: Portalen til verden", som tæller bidrag fra Alexander Tillegreen, Cassie Augusta Jørgensen, Deniz Eroglu, Dina El Kaisy Friemuth, Gitte Villesen, Lise Harlev, Tommy Støckel, Ulrik Møller og Vinyl-terror & -horror.
I forbindelse med åbningen vil der være musik ved dj Mads Axelsen og kolde øl fra Depanneur – og forhåbentlig en sensommersol, der generøst indhyller Nikolaj Plads! Som altid er der fri entré og gratis øl til de første og hurtigste. Alle er velkomne!
Udstillingen "København-Berlin: Portalen til verden" zoomer ind på forbindelsen mellem de to hovedstæder set fra den danske kunstscene. Med Berlinmurens fald i 1989 åbnede Berlin sig som et eksperimentarium for nye kunstneriske strømninger og tiltrak kunstnere fra hele verden, heriblandt Danmark. Byens rå og urbane identitet betød ikke mindst billige atelierer og boliger i et af Europas knudepunkter. Samtidig betød byens internationale profil et afgørende potentiale i mødet med andre kunstprofessionelle med globalt udsyn.
"København-Berlin: Portalen til verden" viser værker af ni danske kunstnere og kunstnerduoer. Alle medvirkende har det til fælles, at de på et tidspunkt i perioden fra starten af 1990’erne og frem til i dag har bosat sig og fortsat arbejder som kunstnere i Berlin. De arbejder med forskellige tematikker og medier, som blandt andet omfatter maleri, performance, lyd og installation.

We’re celebrating the opening of the group show "Copenhagen–Berlin: Gateway to the World" featuring works by Alexander Tillegreen, Cassie Augusta Jørgensen, Deniz Eroglu, Dina El Kaisy Friemuth, Gitte Villesen, Lise Harlev, Tommy Støckel, Ulrik Møller og Vinyl-terror & -horror.
The exhibition "Copenhagen–Berlin: Gateway to the World" explores the connection between the two capitals from the perspective of the Danish art scene. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Berlin opened up as an experimental arena for new artistic movements and attracted artists from all over the world – including Denmark. The city’s raw and urban identity offered affordable studios and housing in what would become one of Europe’s cultural hubs. At the same time, Berlin’s international outlook held the promise of vital encounters with like-minded professionals across borders and disciplines.
"Copenhagen–Berlin: Gateway to the World" presents works by nine Danish artists and artist duos. What unites them is that, at some point between the early 1990s and today, they have settled in Berlin and continue to live and work there as artists. The exhibition spans a range of media and themes, including painting, performance, sound, and installation.
