Bag kunstnernavnet CEVIL står den 24-årige sanger, sangskriver og producer Cecilie Vahle. Cecilie har siden barnsben skrevet sange og tilbragt utallige timer i øvelokalet på loftet af forældrenes stald på Djursland, opslugt af musikkens mange facetter. Siden 2022 har Cecilie boet i København og arbejdet målrettet med sin musik i samarbejde med sin manager Birk Storm (PRISMA, Laura Ziani, Nicklas Sahl mfl.).
Med sin kompromisløse popmusik, der har et snert af retro- og hyperpop, trækker CEVIL inspiration fra mange forskellige afkroge af musikkens verden. Fra St. Vincent til HAIM og Caroline Polachek kredser CEVILs inspirationskilder særligt om den antifabrikerede lyd, der oser af integritet: En integritet, der også tydeligt skinner igennem CEVILs eget katalog.
I efteråret 2023 singledebuterede CEVIL med ”Don’t Speak” efterfulgt af en håndfuld alsidige singler – herunder ”20 BPM”, som havde premiere på Soundvenue og P3, og blev omtalt i Politiken med ordene; ”Dansk popmusik har altid brug for flere oddballs. Flere originaler, flere skøre kuler, flere uregerlige kanaljer, der tegner lidt uden for stregerne. Og når man har det sådan, er det svært ikke at falde ret pladask for Cevils nye single (…)”.

Behind the stage name CEVIL is the 24-year-old singer, songwriter and producer Cecilie Vahle. Cecilie has been writing songs since childhood and spent countless hours in the rehearsal room in the attic of her parents' barn in Djursland, absorbed by the many facets of music. Since 2022, Cecilie has lived in Copenhagen and worked purposefully on her music in collaboration with her manager Birk Storm (PRISMA, Laura Ziani, Nicklas Sahl, etc.).
With her uncompromising pop music, with a touch of retro and hyperpop, CEVIL draws inspiration from many different corners of the music world. From St. Vincent to HAIM and Caroline Polachek, CEVIL's sources of inspiration revolve around the anti-fabricated sound that oozes integrity: an integrity that clearly shines through CEVIL's own catalog.
In the fall of 2023, CEVIL made her single debut with “Don’t Speak” followed by a handful of versatile singles – including “20 BPM”, which premiered at Soundvenue and P3, and was featured in Politiken with the words; “Danish pop music always needs more oddballs. More originals, more crazy guys, more unruly punks who draw a little outside the lines. And when you feel like that, it’s hard not to fall head over heels for Cevil’s new single (…)”.
