Continuing the success from last year, Bådehuset Sommerfest invites you to a late summer evening of visionary music, films, and relaxed hanging out at Refshaleøen, where you can take a walk, swim, and enjoy the sunset.
The night features Trio Hémâ — organ builder Calum Builder (AU), percussionist Ying-Hsueh Chen (DK/Taiwan), and microtonal pianist Matt Choboter (CA/DK) — alongside experimental music films by George Chiper-Lillemark, Rikke Benborg / Ying-Hsueh Chen, and Lasse Schwaneflugel Piazescki.
Trio Hémâ takes you on a hypnotic journey through microtonality, drone, and ritualistic percussion. Their music blends simple, minimalist patterns with rich, immersive sound waves, creating a space where time feels like it slows down and every tone carries a special weight. With open, flowing compositions, their sound unfolds in layers of texture and rhythm, inviting you into a deep, meditative experience where music and ritual come together-
The evening also showcases films by:
Rikke Benborg, a Danish visual artist and filmmaker, whose poetic work explores the intersection of dream and reality. Her films weave abstract narratives using props, costumes, and scenography, influenced by theatre, surrealism, and avant-garde traditions.
George Chiper-Lillemark, a Romanian director and cinematographer based in Copenhagen, known for his experimental and auteur-driven projects. He has contributed to acclaimed films like Touch Me Not (2018), which won the Golden Bear at Berlinale.
Lasse Schwaneflugel Piazescki , a Danish composer and filmmaker, who creates operetta-style films blending passion with satirical absurdity. His work often challenges gender stereotypes and power dynamics, exemplified in films such as Vil du med til Janus? , set in a matriarchal society on a distant planet.
