BlOODY MOON af Dansk Danseteater
"BLOODY MOON" er en vild, underholdende og sprudlende danseforestilling fyldt med humor og sensualitet. Her danser en gruppe deres sidste dans, mens de omfavner livet i al dets pragt. De er bevidste om livets slutning og rammes af en svimmelhed mod afgrunden.
Forestillingen er inspireret af den franske tænker George Batailles berømte værk om begær, erotik, løssluppenhed og galskab og er Dansk Danseteaters nye kunstneriske leder Marina Mascarells første verdenspremiere til Dansk Danseteater. Mascarell har skabt værker for de allerstørste dansekompagnier i verden heriblandt Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), og nu kan publikum endelig opleve hende og kompagniets dansere i smuk forening.
"BLOODY MOON" er et festfyrværkeri ind i ekstasen og menneskets dyriske sider, men også med referencer til antikkens guddomme, commedia del arte-traditionen og Instagram-æraen, hvor alle jagter det hotte insta-moment. Danserne på scenen giver blandt andet krop til frugtbarhedsguden Dionysos’ princip om nydelse, overdrevenhed, uorden, overtrædelse, leg, fest og ekstase. Og det er med både galskab og glimt i øjet.
Forestillingen er visuelt imponerende med legesyge, dyb-grønne kreationer, blodrøde blonder og lilla tyl, som på overraskende og komisk vis integreres som en del af koreografien.
Musikken er rytmisk og levende, med percussion samples af percussionstjernen Uffe Savery fra Safri Duo, og forestillingen danses på et smukt dekoreret scenegulv skabt af Marina Mascarell og kompagniets dansere selv.
Forestillingen er kurateret og præsenteret af CPH STAGE i samarbejde med Dansk Danseteater og Det Kongelige Teater.

ENG: "BLOODY MOON" is a wild, entertaining and exuberant dance performance filled with humor and sensuality. A group dances their last dance as they embrace life in all its splendor. They are aware of the end of life and are struck by a vertigo towards the abyss. "BLOODY MOON" is inspired by the French thinker George Bataille's famous work about desire, eroticism, licentiousness and madness and is Danish Dance Theatre's new artistic director Marina Mascarell's first world premiere for Danish Dance Theatre. Mascarell has created works for the greatest dance companies in the world, including Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), and now audiences can finally experience her and the company's dancers in beautiful union.
"BLOODY MOON" is a celebration of ecstasy and the animal side of man, but also with references to ancient deities, the commedia del arte tradition and the Instagram era, where everyone is chasing the hot insta-moment. The dancers on stage embody the fertility god Dionysus' principle of pleasure, excess, disorder, transgression, play, celebration and ecstasy. And it's with both madness and a twinkle in the eye.
The performance is visually stunning with playful, deep green creations, blood red lace and purple tulle that are surprisingly and comically integrated as part of the choreography. The music is rhythmic and vibrant, with percussion samples by percussion star Uffe Savery from Safri Duo, and the performance is danced on a beautifully decorated stage floor created by Marina Mascarell and the company dancers themselves.
The performance is curated and presented by CPH STAGE in collaboration with Danish Dance Theatre and The Royal Danish Theatre.
