Underglaze Transfer Workshop with Rita

Description

This 2-day workshop will allow participants to create unique underglaze designs. The classes will cover a glazing technique for detailed pottery decoration, taking inspiration from various methods including printmaking, sgraffito, and the use of commercial transfers.

We will provide practice tiles, and you may bring up to three leather-hard pieces.

About Rita:

After earning her BFA in Ceramics from Pratt Institute, Rita Payne established her studio, Beiko Ceramics, in upstate New York. With experience teaching and managing at The Smithy for several years, Rita has worked with individuals ranging from 1 to 100 years old. She also regularly leads community workshops across the state, and her ceramic work can be found in various shops and restaurants, domestic and international.
