As Y'all know, we've had a rough go of it in the Texas Hill Country lately, so I've organized a benefit in my hometown of Coon Rapids, Minnesota to help out my neighbors in San Angelo, TX.
Sat July 26, I'll be doing a show at Jellybean & Julia's BBQ in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Show begins at 7 pm. The fine folks at U-Haul in Coon Rapids have given me a nice discount on a truck, and my goal is to fill that truck up with donations that night. I will drive it back to San Angelo to help replenish the food banks and other charities there that have been completely depleted because of the recent floods. My buddies from my old band High Noon are also reuniting with me and volunteering their time, so it should be a great show.
I’m parking a large UHaul out front so please bring Non perish foods, baby items medical items, anything you can think of. My goal is to load it up!
U-Haul is also giving me another discount to pick up a family's trailer in St. Paul and drive it to Amarillo, TX. Amarillo obviously wasn't affected by the floods, but as luck would have it, that family is moving from St. Paul to Amarillo, and I am doing all I can to cover the cost of this truck and fuel.
However, I still have more to pay on the truck and fuel money and could really use y'all's help.
Even though I don't have the truck yet, the fine folks of Minnesota have already donated enough to fill up at least a quarter of the trailer.
