Looking for a FREE activity for your children over the school holidays?
Snowy STEM Academy is hosting two NAIDOC Week sessions at the Discovery Centre in Cooma.
Children will be immersed in First Nations culture through an Indigenous weaving session to make their own bracelets using natural fibres. This hour-long session will be hosted by Jessika Spencer, a Wiradjuri woman whose practice weaves together traditional and contemporary fibre art techniques that will help children to understand and learn about traditional Indigenous weaving using Jessika's own eco-dyed fibres!
During the weaving session, children will discover the science behind natural fibres, the clever technology in traditional techniques and the sneaky maths hidden in patterns, showcasing just how much STEM is woven into everyday life!
These sessions will run on Wednesday 16 July 2025 and Thursday 17 July 2025 from 3:30pm-4:30pm.
Spots are limited, so register your child's spot now.
