Ashington Community Gears Up for the Annual Christmas Fayre and Tree lighting Ceremony!
The countdown to Christmas officially begins in Ashington! The community is invited to mark their calendars for the highly anticipated Annual Christmas Fayre taking place on Saturday, November 29th, from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Ashington Community Centre, Foster Lane, RH20 3PG.
This year’s event promises a wonderful festive atmosphere, packed with activities for the whole family, culminating in the village’s official Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
Fun for All Ages! Families are encouraged to come early and stay late to enjoy the wide array of entertainment:
🎅 Meet Father Christmas! Children will have the chance to share their wishes with Santa
Claus.
✏️ Free Children’s Activities: A dedicated free Christmas craft table will be available for
young attendees
Outdoor Fun: Outside the centre, there will be a children’s roundabout and a children’s striker for active fun
Festive Stalls: Inside, visitors can browse a variety of lovely Christmas stalls, try their
luck at the raffles and pick up homemade cakes and bric-a-brac.
Food, Drink & Merriment: No festive event is complete without treats! The Burger
Van and Pizza Oven will be on site from 12 PM to 7 PM, catering to everyone in the village.
Inside, refreshments will include tea, coffee, and cake. An available licensed bar will also be selling warming treats like mulled wine and hot chocolate.
The Grand Finale: Tree Lighting
The evening will culminate in the much-loved annual tree lighting:
•5 PM: A choir will perform outside, filling the air with favourite Christmas songs.
•5:15 PM: The community will gather for the countdown and switch-on of the village
Christmas Tree lights, officially launching the festive season.
"The Ashington Christmas Fayre is a cherished tradition and a wonderful way to bring our village
together," says Margaret Alford, a community centre organiser, "We've packed the day with activities,
great food, and the magic of the tree lighting. Everyone is welcome to come along and start their Christmas celebrations with us."
