This year there will be two ceremonies in the HTC Center located on the campus of
Coastal Carolina University (CCU), one at 11:00am and one at 3:00pm. Graduates
will be assigned to the ceremony based on the degree they are completing. Please
refer to the link and QR code below for full details about which degrees will be
celebrated at each ceremony.
• Participants are to arrive no later than 60 minutes prior to the time of the
ceremony, located on your tickets, on May 13, 2025, in required regalia.
• At check-in, graduates will be provided with instructions on seating and crossing
the stage. Each graduate will be given a name card with a designated seat
number. Staff will be available to assist students with any questions or concerns.
• The guest entrance will open one hour prior to the ceremony. Seating is on a
first come, first served basis. (Traffic will be very heavy so it is important to
plan arrival times accordingly.)
• It is important to note that HGTC or CCU will not be responsible for any stolen or
misplaced belongings. There will not be a secure place to leave student or guest
personal items.
CEREMONY ETIQUETTE
• The Commencement ceremony is a dignified event honoring student
academic accomplishments.
• According to College policy, students are only permitted to walk across the
stage for one earned degree, diploma, or certificate.
• Once seated, out of courtesy for all graduates, candidates are asked to remain
seated for the duration of the ceremony.
• Balloons and noisemakers are prohibited.
• Once you receive your diploma/certificate, you will not be permitted to leave
until the entire ceremony is over.
• Guests who leave during the ceremony may be unable to re-enter.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Commencement programs will be available at each graduate’s seat.
• A photographer from GRAD IMAGES will take photos of each graduate receiving
the congratulatory letter on the stage. GRAD IMAGES will contact all graduates
regarding the purchase of photos.
• Candidates who need disability accommodations should notify the Office of
Disability Services by email at

• Please make sure that your address is up to date in your myHGTC account.
• Food, beverages, and smoking are not permitted.
