Teaching vinyasa yoga is more than calling poses and reading a pithy quote. This series presents sequencing from three points of view. Each has merit and gives you different perspectives to expand your teaching.
Sessions include a vinyasa practice plus practicum time. You’ll walk away with templates for each approach and a class that you’ve created. This is a true workshop and training experience with discussion and practice teaching.
If you’re feeling a bit ‘stuck’ or lacking inspiration, this training will inspire and help you take your teaching to the next level.
These sessions can be taking as individual modules or as a full series. Continuing Education Credits are available through Yoga Alliance.
September 13th – Sequencing to Celebrate our Unique Gifts with Kerri
Helping students discover the gifts within is one of our biggest privileges as a yoga teacher. This workshop gives you the tools to blend the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of a practice into a cohesive and powerful vinyasa class. Influenced by her Adaptive Yoga Training, Kerri uses props and creative techniques to help students explore postures in a new way.
October 4th – Sequencing to a Peak Pose with Alissa
Learn the art of sequencing to a peak pose, from warm up to cool down. You’ll explore the mechanics of peak poses, how to prepare the body for deeper poses, and skills and drills to support each movement… Equally important, you’ll learn how to balance your class so students aren’t fatigued when it’s time to find that big pose.
November 8th – Sequencing from a Philosophical Intention with Jen
With so many sacred texts and readings as part of the yogic teachings, it can feel overwhelming to incorporate philosophy into your class. This workshop will support you building a class around an intention that resonates with you. Pulling upon sacred texts, finding asana that relate to the intention and building a sequence and word choice that pulls it all together is a skill. You’ll also explore the art of the Dharma talk.
Please bring a yoga mat and journal.
