The Bible has come under a lot of attack the past few hundred years. The most vigorous attacks have surprisingly come from those who profess to believe in God and even the Bible, itself. There are those who want to deny it, defame it and destroy it, but it still has stood the test of time and the attacks of its critics.
There are a number of different religious groups that claim to believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, but that it is not a complete and final revelation. They deny the “all-sufficiency” of the Bible as God’s revelation to man by asserting other additional revelations from God.
There really is no in between position on the Bible. Either believe God wholly and completely, or not at all. Believe the Bible as the Word of God, every word of it or reject it.
There is no logical middle ground between the two. The Bible claims to be nothing less than the divine revelation of God. It asserts that it is the only true book and allows no rivals nor accepts any companion volumes.
Men have crudely created poor imitations of the Bible’s style and message and claimed their works as equally inspired and yet their works betray their sad human origins.
Despite the Bible’s blunt and plain assertions, there are still those who wonder about other books. Dozens of books across time and the world have followers claiming them as holy scripture and divine revelation. Did God give us more than one message? Are there other books from God other than the Bible?
