Join your friends to play in this global first-contact simulation!
The event can accommodate up to 50 players.
Teams are made up of 3 - 6 players.
In July, come experience the megagame that launched an international interest in the genre.
- Take control of a modern nation and grapple with delicate international politics in the face of increased alien activity on the planet.
- Play as the press, and expose the truth behind covert military operations, closed-door diplomacy, and mounting UFO sightings.
- Land as the aliens, whose ships silently appear in the skies with unknown intent and vanish again into the unknown.
It's clear the aliens are here to stay. The real question is, what do they want? Will you fight them, or embrace them as the world wrestles with the unknown?
So, what is "Watch the Skies" and what the heck is a megagame?
A megagame is large social political simulation designed as a one-day event with the goal of providing a challenging, interesting, and fun interactive environment for participants. It has elements of strategy gaming as well as a lot of diplomacy in a model UN, between teams, and with some roleplaying.
Participants play the game in teams and take on specific roles for that team. In the case of "Watch the Skies," players will become a high ranking official in a national government, a member of a corporate board, become part of an international press team, or one of the mysterious alien commanders.
Within their teams, each player takes on different roles as the game unfolds. Some handle the military situation, attempting to maintain control of the world through the deployment of forces while others test their wits and rhetoric with international diplomacy and attend the UN to help shape global policy. The press scrambles to discern the truth, as government and corporate interests cover-up suspicious crash-sites and limit access, all while the world holds its breath and watches the skies.
Join us as we venture into an uncertain future for humanity in the face of this unknown alien incursion!
