Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge - Concord Unit
Monsen Road, Concord, United States
Join us in celebrating the fall bird migration on a guided walk led by an experienced birder!
Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord is routinely one of the top birding spots in the state. About 85% of the 3850-acre refuge is comprised of freshwater wetlands that stretch along 12 miles of the Concord and Sudbury Rivers. We’ll walk between the two main bodies of water and out to the Concord River, then make our way around one of the impoundments and through the woods searching for migrating song birds, raptors, ducks and wading birds. Limited loaner binoculars available. Beginners welcome! Please prepare for weather and insects.
Meet at the parking lot off Monsen Road in Concord ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/XJjLEqzo1e7XugRd9). There is a $4 fee/vehicle to park in the lot.
