July 14 – 18, 2025
Gratitude Lounge in Concord, CA
Special Guest: Edward Stiles, DO FAAO Dist
Course Director: Yvonne Yang, DO
Course 1: Diagnostic Approach Sequencing by Area of Greatest Restriction. July 14-16th (20 CME, 2.5 days, end 12pm)
Course 2: Treatment Approach Functional Still Laughlin Technique. July 16-18th (20 CME, 2.5 days, start 1pm)
A rare opportunity to learn a complete approach to the body from Dr. Edward Stiles, DO, FAAO Dist and Dr. Yvonne Yang.
The course will be held in two parts July 14 - 18, 2025 at Gratitude Lounge in Concord, CA. You can sign up for one or both parts. Generally these are not offered together, so it is a unique opportunity to learn the entire approach in a bigger course offering. Ideally both are taken, but if you can only make one course, there are still significant benefits to either (see below).
Part 1: Diagnostic Approach - Sequencing the Body by Area of Greatest Restriction/Hindrance
Even without learning a new technique, you will learn how to sequence your existing modalities: where to start and why, where to go next, when to stop in the most patient-centered way. You will learn how to treat even the most complex patients in a couple key areas, which end up treating the whole body - saving time and with optimal integration for the patient (profound changes for the patient, least amount of treatment reactions). Ideal for students to seasoned practitioners. For seasoned DOs, you will learn the nuances of treating based on a patient's unique trauma history. For novice hands, you will learn a palpatory guideline to help you build clinical confidence in diagnostic critical thinking.
Part 2: Treatment Approach - Functional Still Laughlin Technique
Learn how to fine tune for optimal body integration! For seasoned DOs, you will learn how to fine tune all your modality techniques into a dynamic diagnosis/treatment that honors the patient's unwinding and integration. For more novice hands, you will learn how to set up all your techniques with more precision to give you better success in all modalities. Elements of this are key to the diagnostic approach so you will still get palpatory exposure and high-level overview/review of Sequencing by AGR in this course.
88 years young, Dr. Stiles is still actively teaching students and physicians and treating patients. He has integrated collective wisdom through various key historical mentors including Drs. Fred Mitchell Senior (Muscle Energy), George Andrew Laughlin (AT Still's grandson and part of Sutherland's early study groups). He was mentored earlier in his career by those late in their careers - a potent combination for the preservation of Osteopathic lineage!
Dr. Yvonne Yang was Dr. Stiles' last OMM/NMM resident. Her work was the first published clinical study on Sequencing by Area of Greatest Restriction and Quality of Life. She continues to collaborate closely with him to share his integrated wisdom with the osteopathic profession on various projects including teaching courses, research, and multimedia projects. She will be the primary instructor and Dr. Stiles will be present for the whole course to share his unique stories and table train to provide participants with the most personalized experience.
