MAG is proud to present SITES OF REFUSAL

“Black life does not simply resist systems that were never made for us—Black life creates, remembers, and lives visions of freedom that are self-defined and rooted in our everyday acts of refusal.”
Sites of Refusal is a month-long photographic exhibition featuring the work of father/daughter artists Christopher Summey (Portraits in Protest) and Sydney Summey (A Day in the Periphery).
Through their lens, Sites of Refusal invites us into an intergenerational conversation about Black life, protest, and presence. Their portraits offer both intimate and expansive views of what it means to live, resist, and create outside of systems never meant for us.
