During Jól, we experience the darkest and longest of nights, so it is a time to celebrate the returning of the sun with friends and family with feasting and joy! We honor the Dísir, and we ask for their wisdom and blessings upon our lives for the coming year. We honor Frigg and her handmaidens for their protection of home life, Thor for his protection from the worst of the winter, and we honor Odin for commanding this annual celebration centuries ago. On behalf of the Three Bridges Kindred, we look forward to celebrating Jól with you, our friends!
1. The festivities begin with a feast at 5:00pm! Please bring something to share.
2. The blot will begin at 7:00pm, with a sumbel to follow at about 8:00pm. Mead or ale is traditional, but juice or water can be substituted for a non-alcoholic option. BYOB&H(orn), but please take care to not become overly intoxicated!
3. Significant others, friends, and children are welcome! While there is no minimum age for this family-friendly event, there will be alcohol present, so any minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
