Gary will present his program, "Professional Photography The Digital Journey, Winners and Losers". He will give an aerial view of photography from its beginnings through today's cameras, and will also show how professional photography has evolved and the advantages and challenges of digital capture.
Gary began his photography career in 1977, opening a portrait and wedding studio in Douglas, Georgia. In 1988, he joined Burrell Colour Lab in Crown Point Indiana where he specialized in production, color evaluation and correction, and quality control. In 1991, he and his family moved to Columbus, Georgia, where he managed the Custom Portrait and Wedding division at Garrett and Lane Color Lab, a position he held for nearly two decades. In 2010, he launched YourBestColor.com, an online editing service for pro photographers, which was acquired in 2012 by a US-based editing company. He then trained artists, led color editing, and managed sales and client services, representing the company at national and international trade shows. In 2021, Gary accepted an opportunity to manage production and quality control for a portrait studio group in the NYC/NJ area. In 2024 Gary began working on a new service, Masterpiece Photo Services, providing premium photo products and services as well as original fine art prints.
