Since 2018, CoMo Mobile Aid Collective (COMAC) has been handing out gratitude by the cupful in Columbia, quite literally. The organization started with just one person handing out soup to unhoused people who needed it. Since then, the organization has grown into an organization with multiple teams that includes volunteer nurses, bakers and advocates who supply mutual aid to people in need in our town.

Without organizations like CoMo Mobile Aid Collective in Columbia, many unhoused residents in our community would struggle to get their most basic needs met in their lives. Most organizations that help the unhoused community focus on meeting food and shelter needs. CoMo Mobile Aid Collective takes that one step further with their outreach. They organize clothing drives, host medical clinics, and have even offered a mobile shower unit for unhoused residents to use throughout the warmer months. Providing these amenities to people means that they can move through their days with their bellies full and their dignity intact.
