Hiking at Sunfish Pond Loop

Enjoy a summer afternoon hiking with HSSC! We’re going to Sunfish Pond Loop at the Delaware Water Gap, a 4.1 mile loop with an elevation gain of 1,181 ft. It’s a moderate hike, with switchbacks at the steeper parts. After a relatively direct ascent, there’s a gradual loop around the lake before descending. We’ll be back in the parking lot in about 2.5 hours.
After the hike, there’s an option to visit a swimming beach (Turtle Beach) on the Delaware River, 2.5 miles away. Bring water and sturdy footwear (and a bathing suit if you wish).

After the hike, join us for casual food and drinks at Shawnee Craft Brewery, just a few miles away on the bank of the Delaware River. Hikers can go straight there, or head to Turtle Beach first for a dip before the brewery. (There is no swimming in Sunfish Pond.)
Pets: The hike and brewery are dog friendly. They are not allowed at Turtle Beach.
