Focus on Africa Research presentations

Focus on Africa will take place Wednesday, September 3rd 12 pm-1 pm in Memorial Union room N-51 in the International Center. Focus on Africa is hosted by MU Africa Hub once a month during the semester. The mission of the Africa Hub is to promote the study and understanding of Africa. The purpose of the program is to encourage MU Africanist scholars to meet each other, stimulate each other’s thinking, and potentially lead to the creation of broader research networks and/or joint scholarship. The program is free and open to the public. Join us, come relax and learn!

Our speaker next week will be Medinat Oyedele. She is a Master’s student in French Language and Literature in the School of Languages, Literatures, & Cultures at the University of Missouri, where she serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She is the Public Relations Officer of the African Graduate and Professional Students Association (AGPSA), passionate about amplifying student voices, strengthening community, and building lasting legacies.

The title of her presentation: Exploring Saki: The Linguistic Life of a Borderland Town
