Firebirds Wood Fired Grill
4600 Merchants Circle, Collierville, United States
An Army of Normal Folks and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill are hosting a special lemonade stand fundraising event and live podcast recording with Coach Bill Courtney on Wednesday, July 30th featuring Liz Scott, co-executive director of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and Alex Scott's mother. This event will take place at the Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Collierville.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, inspired by Liz Scott's four-year-old daughter Alex, began as a single lemonade stand to fund childhood cancer research, and is now the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. ALSF has raised nearly $350 million, funding over1,500 research projects at nearly 150 institutions across North America and Europe (including $9.9 million with St. Jude). This year's event follows ALSF's annual Lemonade Days initiative, which in 2025 achieved a record-breaking 3,500 participating stands nationwide and raised over $1.4 million.
Twenty-five years ago in July 2000, 4-year-old Alexandra "Alex" Scott organized her first lemonade stand in her front yard while battling neuroblastoma. Her simple yet profound mission – to help doctors find cures for all children with cancer by funding research – has transformed into a national movement that has fundamentally changed the landscape of pediatric cancer research. By the time Alex passed away in 2004 at age eight, she raised $1 million and her legacy of hope continues to inspire individuals and communities across the country.
The lemonade stand, "The Most Epic Lemonade Stand in Memphis History", at Firebirds Collierville will benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, with Liz Scott on hand to meet attendees and personally thank them for their support. This family-friendly event offers a perfect opportunity for kids to learn about philanthropy and the power of dreaming big.
You're invited to attend both the Lemonade Stand fundraiser (10:45AM-2:00PM) and An Army of Normal Folks' live podcast interview with Liz (9:15AM-10:45AM). Liz will also be at the lemonade stand from 10:45-11:45 am and would love to thank attendees for their support. While RSVPs aren't required for the lemonade stand, they're recommended to ensure we have a cup waiting for you. Lemonade is $3 per glass. Seating for the podcast interview is limited to 40 people, so advance registration is essential to secure your spot. Make sure to RSVP on this page.
