Saturday DNA! Pollen-palooza !

Pollen is produced by many plants for reproduction and is essential for our ecosystem. Use microscopes to view amazing pollen diversity and meet scientists from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory who will discuss their plant research! Participants are encouraged to bring a flower from home for this investigation!

In this session, participants will:

• hear about current plant research happening at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory;
• learn about the role of pollen in plant reproduction;
• compare pollen from different plants found around the DNALC and their homes;
• use compound microscopes to observe pollen grains.

Ages 10-13, one adult chaperone required. Chaperones must purchase a ticket and fully participate in all activities.
