This week 12:00 noon start due to the cold, 11:15 start time for the early bird 10-mile bonus group.
This ride is more social than a Hammerfest so keep the pace steady and shoot for a 19-20 mph average. If you want to bring a guest, just make sure they are comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised. If they can't, then they should at least be attractive and wealthy.
Our main goal is to ensure everyone stays together and if someone falls off the back, sweepers are encouraged to bring them back to the group. We will also wait at stop signs to regroup as well if needed.
The Garmin routes are posted below and the 40 is the same as the 50 mile route with the exception of a turn on Keith Valley at around mile 31 so download the route you plan to ride and use it to call out turns so everyone is on the same page.
I have also added a metric ride which will tack another 10 miles on the 52 miler so you can collect your metric badge, ya bunch of overachievers!
🚨🚨The parking area for this ride is between the Cohutta Mason Lodge and the Cohutta First Baptist Church parking lots🚨🚨 we cannot park at the tennis court parking lot on Windwalker anymore.
