We are teaming up with 'Market Place Print Studio' to deliver this lovely double workshop.
Morning session: 10 - 1pm Market Place Print Studio
The morning will be spent with Emily at her studio, exploring colour, pattern-making, tessellation and repetition through the prism of block printing using lino and rubber stamps.
You will learn how to use our range of hand carved stamps to create effective patterns and see how patterns emerge in both the negative space and printed space.
Learn how to ink up a block printing stamp using special inks and how to confidently thump down a stamp for a crisp, punchy print. Fabric for a 20cm lampshade will be provided.
Afternoon session: 2 - 5pm Recreate & Make
After lunch, move on to Recreate & Make, next to Wordsworth House, to create a lampshade with your lovely printed fabric
Learn how to apply the lampshade PVC to get the best out of your fabric, how to attach the rings and create neat rolled edges, amongst a variety of other techniques. By the end of the afternoon, you will go home with your very own bespoke lampshade and will have all the skills to create many more beautiful shades!

All fabrics and lampshade frames will be provided within the workshop cost.

Times: This workshop runs from 10 - 4.30/5pm.
Clothing: wear clothing you don't mind getting paint/ink on
Refreshments: Tea, coffee, biscuits are on tap through the day. We can't provide lunch, but there are many lovely eating places in Cockermouth.
