As the workshop facilitator, and as a widely-published author of both poetry and prose, Michael Blouin will talk about his writing process and practice. Participants will take time to write a poem, preferably a few poems arising from these prompts.
These newly-crafted poems will be shared with the other people in the workshop group … but … will lead to a casual/non-intimidating open competition.
All these poems, Mike explains “would then be adjudicated by myself with small ‘awards’ being provided to those I consider to be most effective given the parameters (completely subjective, and all are praised for their efforts regardless of outcome).
"The ‘awards’ are not meant to intimidate, just to provide a fun element.
"It's all pretty informal/non-academic.”
