Conservation pruning of a prominent elder Sugar Maple: Learn how arborist Phil Guenter and his team from Baum Tree Care preserve mature trees.
Tree Planting Demo: Learn how to plant a tree for future success with arborist Del Cressman.
Professor Pricklethorn Presentation: Fun family-friendly show that highlights the benefits of urban trees.
Followed by a choice of two additional activities:
Tree Identification and Maintenance: Learn about species identification and pruning to establish good form that reduces future maintenance costs and risk.
Interactive Fence Weaving: with artist Jenny Duda
Guided Tree Walk to Merwin Greer Woods: 20 minute walk from C.R. Gummow to Merwin Greer School to see elder European Beech, White Pine, Norway Spruce, Cucumber Tree, Black Walnut and Red Oaks.
