Join us for an Author Talk on Sunday, September 14 at 2:00 PM by Doug Hiser, local author, artist and retired educator!
Doug's program will focus primarily on the research for his most recent book, "Kyo", and will include a slide show with videos. He plans to bring copies of his book to read and discuss the research and the writing of the new novel, along with artwork, dioramas of the prehistoric islands featured in the book and headdresses from the tribal ceremonies.
A world traveler, animal lover and conservationist, Doug is also a wildlife artist and muralist, author of more than 25 books and taught high school art for many years. He painted the City of Santa Fe's "Ten Feathers" mural in his hometown to honor the Santa Fe High School students and teachers lost in 2018.
Doug was one of two artists featured in the "Animalia: Beyond the Jungle" art exhibit in Brazosport Art League in February 2022. Read more: bcfas.org/brazosport-art-league-opens-new-exhibit-animalia-beyond-the-jungle
