Canoeing with Clive

Come canoeing with us! Your child will join Clive Parks and Recreation staff for a day on the water as we travel to Seven Oaks Recreation Area in Boone, Iowa. We will meet at the Harbach Center at 8505 Harbach Blvd., Clive.

The trip is intended for beginner paddlers, but waters may be challenging, and students will need to paddle consistently for periods of 20 – 30 minutes at a time without breaks. Lifejackets are provided and will be required when on or near water. Participants will be paired with another youth paddler (two children per canoe). Clive staff will also be in separate canoes to assist participants. We prefer participants have passed an American Red Cross Level 3 swim lesson or higher to participate. An email & text message will be sent to parents at least two days prior to trip date with more specific trip information and items needed.
