NAVA Gamer Gathering, October 25th: "Costume Party Contest 2025"

NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. This is a FREE event bringing gamers together for competition, trading, and chatter.

Previously at NAVA...
- We celebrated the anniversary of NINTENDO 64 by unleashing a barrage of N64 games on our visitors, including some of the 4-player variety!
- The 6PM tournament was SUPER SMASH BROS, won by Romelo, who smashed all of the other bros, earning him a cool $20 gift certificate.
- The arcade challenge was HYDRO THUNDER 64. Our high score winner was Chris R with a best time of 1:44:39, earning the coveted $20 gift certificate.
- Gamers, collectors and friends shared their recent adventures and sold or traded their goods.

In This Month's NAVA: It will be almost Halloween when NAVA presents itself so what better way to warm up your costume and try to win a prize?! BE IN COSTUME at 5pm when our all-star judging panel votes on the top three costumes and a special "most original" category, all for great prizes! Simply being IN COSTUME gets you 15% off of all used merchandise in the store all day long. NOTE: "IN COSTUME" means an actual costume. Showing up in a baseball cap claiming to be "a baseball player" or with 5 o'clock shadow claiming to be "a bum" or doing BOTH claiming to be "The Store Owner" will not qualify.

As always, there will be game systems set up around the store for everyone to play, featuring this month's theme!

Tournament! What happens when Jason Voorhees, Predator, Alien, and Leatherface face off in head to head battles? Let's find out. We're going with MORTAL KOMBAT X! Who among NAVA members can murder their way to the end of the brackets? Let's find out. Sign-ups begin at 3pm, the tournament starts after 6pm and its first-come, first-served in this FREE-to-join tournament.

Arcade challenge! In keeping with the spooky Halloween vibes, let's play Sega's 1982 platformer MONSTER BASH. Be the best at this game on this one day by logging the highest score on our arcade cabinet by 9pm and win a nifty $20 gift certificate. Arcade challenge games are set to FREE PLAY all day, but please remember to let everyone get a shot. If you get the high score, move on, and no hogging the cabinet! Also if you have won last month’s arcade challenge you are not eligible to win this month’s challenge.

Remember, feel free to bring a box or two of your trade goodies. We'll help you administer sales and get you set up somewhere in the store to sell your goods. NAVA is a time for trading! Also, if you have a Digital Press or NAVA t-shirt, wear them for a for an additional 5% discount on our already low-low prices :) If you don't have a Digital Press t-shirt, ask us how to buy one while you're here.
