Incense Holder & Ritual Kit Workshop
Have you ever dreamed of creating your own ritual kit—something deeply personal, meaningful, and made by hand? In this intimate and inspiring workshop, you’ll do just that.
Join Diane in the studio for a hands-on session where you'll craft your very own ceramic incense holder—a beautiful and functional piece to anchor your daily rituals. You'll also receive a sage smudge stick and abalone shell, completing a simple yet powerful ritual kit to take home.
Diane will guide you through the pottery-making process, from shaping your incense holder to decorating it with underglazes, stamps, tissue transfer designs and learning the art of sgraffito, a carving technique that adds texture and depth to your design. Whether you follow one of our example patterns or bring your own vision to life, your creation will be truly one of a kind.
What You’ll Learn & Take Home:
Pottery techniques for hand-building your own incense holder
Decorative methods using underglazes and carving (sgraffito)
An understanding of ritual tools and their significance
A finished incense holder, sage smudge stick, and abalone shell
Why It Matters:
Creating your ritual items by hand allows you to layer them with intention, meaning, and your personal energy—transforming them into sacred tools rather than just objects. Burning incense or using smudge sticks are time-honoured practices used to cleanse spaces, ward off negative energy, and focus intentions.
No prior pottery experience is needed—just come with an open mind and a willingness to get creative.
