The Governor’s Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force is hosting an interactive 8 hour Identifying and Responding to Child Victims of Human Trafficking training for professionals who serve systems involved youth in Cuyahoga County. During Part One of the training, all attendees will learn about the dynamics of human trafficking, how to identify child victims of human trafficking, learn how to respond with best practices and trauma responsive approaches, learn from subject-matter experts with lived experience, leave with practical tools and resources, and connect with other agencies in their community.
During Part Two of the training, attendees will be split into two breakout sessions based on discipline:
Non-Child Protective Services Professionals
This breakout session will focus on legal remedies for survivors of human trafficking and how to implement and advocate for Safe Harbor laws.
Child Protective Services Professionals
This breakout session will focus on the federal and state requirements for CPS workers, screening referrals of abuse for human trafficking, identifying victims of human trafficking in SACWIS, assessing for safety, vulnerabilities and risk factors, safety planning, and case planning.
*This training is the statewide OCWTP approved human trafficking training
