Is something missing from your dancing?
Have you ever heard tango dancers speak about transcendent experiences during dancing?
Do you wonder why you haven't had such experiences?
Do you wonder whether your knowledge of tango steps leaves something missing in your dance?
Would you like to connect deeper to your partner, the music, the floor, and yourself as you dance?
Have you or a friend been told about tango, leaving you curious or are new to partner dancing?
Come join us this August for a truly unique bootcamp weekend experience where Chan Park brings his expertise in meditation to the world of tango.
During his visit, he will lead workshops on the meditative experience of tango: connection with your partner, the music, and the embrace. We are very lucky to be bringing him here to help us get back to the roots and heart of what makes tango so special. We hope you join us for these transcendent workshops!

In 2010 and 2011, Chan Park spent 4 months in Buenos Aires, interviewing dozens of performers, teachers, local dancers, dance organizers, djs, editors of tango journals, and tango tourists about what it is that makes a dance so closely linked to a culture appeal so intensely to people with such different cultural identities. He was curious about the dance that brings dancers back weekly, sometimes even daily to dance together. What he learned was that beautiful and expressive tango depends upon intense communication.
We are fortunate to have Chan Park visiting us in Cleveland this August. Chan Park began dancing in 1997 and spent four years in Buenos Aires studying the dance. His major area of study is the connections between tango and meditation.
Documentary:
TANGO ZEN: RETURNING TO TRADITION
captures the transformative journey of Chan Park, a former NASA engineer turned Tango master, as he leads a mission to restore the roots of Tango in Buenos Aires.
In a world where Tango has shifted focus to spectacle and showmanship, this documentary invites dancers to reconnect with the heart of traditional Tango—a journey of emotional connection, presence, and shared stillness.
The film highlights Chan Park’s workshops, where dancers learn to move away from external validation and instead embrace the soulful simplicity of Tango Zen. Here, every step becomes a walking meditation, and every pause holds the space for profound connection.
Directed by Juan Cruz Varela, this documentary is a tribute to the authentic soul of Tango and an invitation to return to its timeless roots.
