Welcome to the Wombat Festival Workshop Weekend - Barbed Wire Wombat Workshop! Join us at the BA Recreation Hall for a two days working with wire to create your own quirky version of a prickly wombat under the guidance of local wire worker extraorinaire Dan Parsons from Dan's Crazy Sculptures.
The workshop will run from 9am-4pm on the Saturday and continue 9am-2pm on Sunday. Refreshments and beverages will be available for purchase - or bring a packed lunch and snacks.
Materials required - approximate 20m of old barbed wire (not galvanised) - 4m of plain wire - 2 cup head bolts or beads for eyes - a metal soup ladle and wire clips or fine wire. Tools required are a pair of pliers and wire cutters. Long sleeve shirt, gloves, hat, safety glasses and closed in shoes are required.
The completed wombats will be exhibited as part of the Wombat Festival Art Show on 9-11 May.
