Episode 9 of 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗬 (𝗕𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘅 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱) Season 5 features 𝗜𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗪𝗶𝗷𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗮, a Singaporean-Sri Lankan guitarist known for blending Western and Indian classical traditions into a singular sound; performing on a custom-built double-neck guitar, he moves fluidly between genres with a style that is both technical and expressive, alongside 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗛𝗲, a Singapore-born dance artist of Chinese descent who received a bursary from the National Arts Council of Singapore to pursue an MFA in Dance at Sarah Lawrence College under the directorship of Sara Rudner; Belinda utilizes pedagogical and improvisational structures to support her creative processes, which often reflect her concern with the weaponization of “fake news” as propaganda and her commitment to diversifying ways of seeing as an antidote to erasure, while her practices of qigong and the Feldenkrais Method deeply shape how she relates to time, space, scale, and self.

Exploring the intersectionalities and possibilities of the sonic and physical realms, the performance project aims to promulgate the concepts of improvisation, exploration, experimentation and collision.

Artists are challenged to meet on the afternoon of performance day at 5pm to discuss their strategies (if any) for the evening's improvisation performance at 8pm. The spontaneity of each unique sharing thus underscores its own ephemerality, for makers and viewers.
