📖𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
Who were you before the world told you who to be?
What stories live in your bones, waiting to rise?
What names (given/chosen/buried) are yours to claim?
.
.
🐝𝗕𝗘/𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘🐝 is a performance workshop led by Malaysian artist, facilitator and storyteller 𝗗𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘂: an intimate and transformative space for anyone who identifies as brown to gather, reflect and reclaim.
.
.
In this four hour experience, participants will be guided through writing rituals, performance exercises and body based storytelling practices to unlock hidden narratives and reconnect with ancestral, cultural and personal truths.
.
.
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼:
💚 Unearth the names and narratives you carry (and hide)
🩵 Rewrite and reimagine the stories you have been holding on to
🧡 Reclaim the sacred in your voice, body and creative self expression
💛 Show up more fully: as artists, storytellers and selves
.
.
Whether you’re a creative, a seeker, a performer, or someone in search of your true voice: this space is for you.
.
.
You do not need to be a writer or actor or performer to join.
You only need to come with a willingness to remember and reimagine.
.
.
⚙️𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

*In the context of South East Asia and Singapore, brown can mean a lot of different identities. We will accept anyone who identifies as brown in your personal/cultural context which in Singapore can also mean those of the Malay and Indian diaspora.
