Annual Clearfield County Blue Mass

We are writing to invite you to celebrate the annual Clearfield County Blue Mass. The Blue Mass is a Mass celebrated annually throughout the United States in Catholic Churches for law enforcement officers, firefighters, correctional officers, 911 operators, and EMS personnel. The color blue relates to the blue-colored uniforms predominantly used by those public services.

The Blue Mass, even though in a Catholic Church, is an opportunity for all faiths to gather together as a community to show gratitude for first responders and pray for their safety. The Clearfield County District Attorney, Ryan Sayers, has seen this tradition being held around the country and is excited to see it continue.

This year’s Blue Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Clearfield on May 17th at 4:15pm.

This year Bishop Persico will also be participating. A meal will follow at St. Francis School as well.

You are welcome to bring a piece of apparatus to this celebration and we will be parking on the street next to the church on a first come, first serve basis. Formal dress is requested, however, it is not required to participate.
