Pageantry & Pride: Drag Pageants in Missouri

Celebrate LGBTQ History Month with an evening exploring the history and culture of drag pageants in St. Louis. The program kicks off with a presentation about drag history in St. Louis and the early days of pageants, including Miss Fannie’s Ball and the first Miss Gay St. Louis and Miss Gay Missouri pageants. Following the presentation, you’ll hear from a panel of former pageant contestants and organizers who will share their own stories and reflections.

Join us in the Grand Hall before our main-stage event to enjoy food and drinks available for purchase from Amighett’s. Visit resource tables hosted by local LGBTQIA+ organizations, stop by the Historian’s Corner with Gateway to Pride curator Ian Darnell, decorate your own Pride crown, and strike a pose at our selfie station.

Schedule
5–7pm | Food and drinks available for purchase from Amighetti’s.
5:00–6:30pm | Visit resource tables and the Historian’s Corner, decorate your own Pride crown, and take a fabulous selfie.
6:30–8:00pm | Head to the Lee Auditorium to learn about drag pageant history in St. Louis and hear from people who have been part of the pageant scene.
