6-Week Pottery Wheel Course - (Tuesday evenings)
Class Dates: September 9, 16, 23, 30; October 7, 14
This six-week pottery wheel throwing course is designed for beginners, guiding you through the fundamentals of shaping clay into stunning forms.
Here's what you'll learn:
**Foundations on the Wheel – Learn the basics of centering, shaping, and creating various forms like bowls, vessels and cylinders using stoneware clay. Develop your skills through hands-on practice and personalized guidance.
**Practice – Put your skills to the test with open wheel time, we will be on hand to assist.
**Trim, Carve, and Create – Explore the art of trimming and carving your pottery pieces, adding unique details and perfecting your shapes. Learn how to attach handles to mugs, adding functionality to your creations.
**Glazing Techniques – Discover the world of glazes, experimenting with different colors, textures, and finishes. Learn how to apply glazes properly for beautiful and durable results.
**Firing & Finishing – Included for your creations during class, transforming them into lasting works of art.
*This course is all-inclusive, with the cost covering all materials, including stoneware clay, glazes, and firing. Join us and discover the joy of pottery wheel throwing! You'll be surprised at the beautiful pieces you can create. No experience necessary — all levels are welcome!
