An evening with Chris Packham: “Whose genes will be in the Brand New World”?
Acclaimed naturalist and broadcaster, Chris Packham, will be giving a free public lecture hosted by Professor Turi King, Director of the Milner Centre for Evolution at the University of Bath, on Friday 1st August 2025 at 6.30-7.30pm, Chancellors' Building Lecture Theatre CB 1.10.
Join us for a special evening exploring the story of evolution - from the origins of life to the astonishing diversity of species we see today, and what it means for our planet’s future.
Chris Packham CBE is one of the UK’s most respected naturalists, broadcasters, and environmental campaigners. With a career spanning over four decades, he first became a household name in the 1980s as the presenter of the BBC’s The Really Wild Show. Today, he is best known for co-hosting the BBC’s Springwatch, Autumnwatch, and Winterwatch series, where he brings the wonders of British wildlife into millions of homes.
The lecture is suitable for everyone over the age of 11 and will be around 45 minutes with time for audience questions afterwards.
Professor Turi King, Director of the Milner Centre for Evolution, said “Chris Packham is one of our greatest science communicators of our time and his passion for wildlife and environmental advocacy resonates deeply with our mission.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Chris and our community together for this inspiring evening.”
