Crystal Shapes & Crayon Gems

In this workshop, kids will explore the world of crystals by learning how naturally occurring minerals form distinct geometric shapes — and how those shapes help scientists identify them. Then, we’ll recycle bits of old crayons and (safely) melt them down into sparkling “crayon gems” using crystal-shaped molds. It’s the perfect blend of earth science and creative fun — and best of all, no prep or mess at home!

Ages 6 to 12 recommended, younger ok with parent help.
